The good: Pretty interesting field trips for the kids. Hopefully field trips will be spreading to all schools, which,
before the naughty voices jump in, let's be clear, field trips, as far as I know, are generated by each individual school and grade level teachers and if you pay attention to school matters you know which schools very seldom take the opportunity to take kids on school field trips. Maybe these schools need help getting field trips organized? A little push (or training) is sometimes all that is needed.
The bad: Oy! All the consultants' fees for this and for that. Are these consultants mandated? What are the choices out there to get the same services for less, in house, or free?
The
not surprising: Seems the NJDOE is finally catching up with the Plainfield school district previously school board approved items that needed to have more than local approval? I might be all wrong on this one so please correct me if I am. (And this is not a criticism of the NJDOE, after all, they are short on staff)
There is more
tela para cortar on the agenda, but for now this all I can do. Care to jump in with your own observations?

Having read through the list of field trips, it seemed odd that the description of the trip to the Prudential Center was vague in comparison to the rest. My suspicion arose even more when I saw it was a Saturday at 6PM, coming back at 10:30.
A quick check of the Prudential Center calendar shows that night the building has the Michael Jackson Cirque du Soleil performance.
Fortunately, according to the mention, this will not cost the district any money, outside of busing. But if this is what they're going to see, then just say so.
3:21,
Thanks for pointing this out. Your comment shows one more way to verify facts as posted on BOE agendas. Thanks.
