Supervisors That Were To Be Hired on December 20th Were Not

The puzzle of why there were comments on the district's hiring of Supervisors seems to be finally solved.  Maybe.

Having not attended the December 20th school board meeting I was waiting for the Minutes of the December 20th meeting to be posted.  The Minutes were finally posted this past Friday.  On the December 20th meeting Minutes it is clear as water that the scheduled promotion from teachers to supervisors of both proposed staff by the superintendent didn't happen.

Both proposed promotions were pulled from the agenda and the advertised positions of Supervisors apparently went back to be advertised and the last day to apply was January 24th (or 25th).

It will be interesting to see who gets hired into the Supervisor positions.  Hopefully next time all those who apply will fill the hiring process has been fair to all who wanted their names attached to the positions in question.

You can view the last set of approved Minutes now posted HERE.

Maria: Per district policy/regulation, don't ALL PPS employees HAVE TO BE INTERVIEWED by PPS Human Resources, if the employees apply for posted positions and hold necessary certification?

After watching the Dec. BOE meeting on TV this past week, I was surprised to hear the public indicate that employees are not being called for interviews...I thought that that was MANDATORY.

The unions better be double-checking everything the administration is doing and saying!!! Trust and blind faith isn't going to cut it, given this administration.

And, based on that same Dec. BOE meeting, what has happened with regard to the Kindergartens and the 2-Way Dual Language (English-only plus Spanish/English Speaking Kids) class, both of which seem to be in total violation of state and probably federal regs? ...What a sickening mess!

9:21,

Maybe the reason for the hiring of that night to be halted was because the public spoke of the lack of adherence to regulations? Maybe the school board is listening? If so, then maybe the district is really getting better under this school board. As for the other issues, not sure what the status is on them, I'll see if there is an update from either the school district or the parents. Thanks.
