My observations notwithstanding the video itself is the inner working of this Board that Plainfield:
1. Interesting…public has to provide their names prior to speaking. Certainly makes for a more efficient meeting as oppose to waiting to see if there are any public comments. Advance notice from the public – what a concept.

2. Questions about Curriculum (upgrading) – Plainfield not so different

3. Cost for Curriculum (set asides) – Plainfield not so different

4. Concerns for parents input on Curriculum – Plainfield not so different

5. Number of audience members – Plainfield a BIT Different

6. Concerns on use of facility not being kept up by “borrowing orgs” – Plainfield VERY different

7. Concerns about lack of FULL Acknowledgement of all activities underway – Plainfield Very Much the same

8. Members speaking without being recognized by the Chair (the idea of free-flow exchange)– Plainfield Not so different

9. Need for Board President to Callout inappropriate behavior of other members during the meeting – Plainfield Not so different

10. Request for PRESS Conference PRESS release to highlight POSITIVE activities – Hmmm Plainfield Very Much the same

11. Questions from various Board Members to the Public…Not a bad idea

12. Parent demanding responses for repeated requests-parent involvement process being one of them – Sound Xtremely familiar

See Plainfield is not so different. There is work to do. How is everyone helping?

Please be advised that Lakewood is comprised of 2 communities, Yeshiva and the general population, that NEVER interact. The main problem with the Lakewood Board of Education is that the majority of the board members are from the Yeshiva community, with none of their children going to the public schools. The Board's main concern is not for general public school children, but how the school board's policies will effect the Yeshiva's community such as school taxes, etc.

12:51,

I hope 5:56 responded your answer on how Lakewood and Plainfield are not equal. But, both places have boards and administrators that are ODNI(On Dire Need of Improvement).

5:56,

Thanks for stoping by. Perhaps we parents and concerned residents on districts like Plainfield, Lakewood et all should get together and start drafting plans to occupy these district's BOE meetings in support of each other. We can do this until the state and NJDOE pay attention to our demands: good public schools for our children! No more excuses!
We should. Thanks!
