Is Mr. Hurtt Being Bullied? Words of Encouragement for Him and Others from an Anonymous Reader!

I received a comment yesterday and on it there was a mention about Mr. Hurtt, the school board member who so candidly asked to see, in writing, the plan of implementation for a school program. The comment made reference to school board members being "dogged" for asking questions and speaking up when an item up for vote didn't look "its best". Well, the word "dogged" got lost in translation since I have no idea what it means to be "dogged" (Am I being "dogged" too? I think I am!). Mr. Hurtt's questions should not be the exception but the rule. Good, meaningful questions show that school board members (or other adults in the room) are looking out for our kids and doing their job. I applaud Mr. Hurtt and encourage others to follow his example.

Here are some words of encouragement that were left on this blog and are for those who are being bullied by those who refuse to accept that the district and many of its practices are in need of improvement:

Thank you, 8:03!!!!
Your input and insight is ESSENTIAL and greatly needed.

Board members and PPS employees must be reassured that Adult Bullying Will Not Be Tolerated and that they Must Called-Out/Expose even the slightest hint of bullying, intimidation, harassment, coercion,covering-up, HUSHING...!

If we expect children to recognize and stand-up to bullies, adults, especially adults in powerful positions, must be empowered and MANDATED to Prosecute bullies.

8:03, what questions from the public will assist/empower/prompt a potentially "bullied" board member to speak-out and go forward with dissuaded and discouraged hot-button inquiries? Please give us examples.

Thanks again, 8:03! Your courage is so appreciated.

A lot of this behavior has been going on now for some years; and with the new configuration of board members it is more apparent. So many decisions which have been made in the last two years had no real logic to it. Many of the decisions made show the lack of experience in even managing the smallest issues. There still has been no answer given for the board paying the legal fees for the board member who has been forced to leave. The take our money like they have a right to spend with no regard. Look at the blogs and the minutes of the current issue; how can anyone invest $22,000 + dollars on a program which has not even been properly documented or presented. You wouldn't spend that kind of money in your personal life without information why is it okay for the board to do it. This system is so broken and untrustworthy that it would not surprise at the least should this board go under investigation for several acts of wrong doing. There is no thought taken for the welfare of the children not like a a responsible person would do; it is more like children making decisions because they can. When is the community going to step up and put a stop to this. PPS is in crisis and by the time they figure it out they will be closing some of the schools as failures.
